Asseska is an AI-powered quiz generation and automated grading platform built to transform how educators create and manage assessments. Lecturers describe a topic, generate a complete quiz using AI in seconds, deploy it to students, receive automatically graded results, and export scores directly to Canvas LMS - all from one unified platform. Designed to integrate seamlessly into existing academic workflows across universities, colleges, and educational institutions.
The Problem
What needed to be solved
Educators across academic institutions spend a disproportionate amount of time on assessment logistics - writing questions, formatting quizzes, manually grading submissions, and transferring scores between platforms. For short-answer and essay questions, manual grading is inconsistent, slow, and difficult to scale. Most LMS platforms offer basic quiz tools but lack intelligent automation, leaving lecturers to juggle disconnected tools and repetitive tasks that take time away from actual teaching.

How I approached it
Problem Discovery
Researched the pain points of educators across higher education - identifying that quiz creation, manual grading, and disconnected tools were the biggest drains on lecturer time and assessment quality.
System Architecture
Designed a scalable serverless cloud architecture combining a Flutter Web frontend, real-time cloud database, AI services, automated form deployment, and LMS integration into one cohesive platform.
AI Quiz Generation
Built the AI Generator where lecturers input a topic or learning objective and the platform instantly generates academically relevant questions across multiple question types using artificial intelligence.
Automated Quiz Deployment
Implemented an automated pipeline that publishes quizzes for student access, collects responses, and feeds submissions back into the grading system - without any manual intervention from the lecturer.
Automated Grading
Built an AI-powered grading engine that scores objective questions instantly and evaluates subjective responses intelligently - surfacing results in a Grading Queue for efficient lecturer review.
Canvas LMS Integration
Integrated with Canvas LMS so lecturers can export AI-graded results directly into their course grade books. Students see their scores from within their existing Canvas profiles, making Asseska a natural extension of the institutional workflow.
