Attendance and tutoring records can become difficult to manage when information is collected manually. Administrators need more than a list of names-they need reliable records showing when students and tutors arrived, when they left, and what activity took place during a session.
The Tutor and Student Check-In platform was built to digitize this workflow and make attendance information available to administrators through a centralized system.
The Student Workflow
The student experience was designed to keep check-in simple while ensuring that useful records are created behind the scenes.

The Tutor Workflow
Tutor attendance follows a similar process. Tutors identify themselves, check in, complete their work period, and check out. The completed record can then be reviewed administratively.
Administrative Visibility
A separate administrative interface provides access to the records created by the check-in system. This separation allows the student and tutor interfaces to remain simple while giving administrators the visibility required for monitoring and reporting.
Why Real-Time Data Matters
Using a shared cloud data layer means records created through the check-in interface can become available to administrators without relying on manually maintained spreadsheets or duplicate data entry.
What We Learned
Simple interfaces can sit on top of meaningful operational workflows.
Check-in and check-out events should form a complete attendance record.
Administrative requirements should influence the data model from the beginning.
Real-time systems can reduce duplicate record keeping.
